Fishing in Victoria - Great Ocean Road

One thing you can do while on a trip on the Great Ocean Road is to go fishing.

There are a few protected areas where you are not allowed to fish, so please check :)

You can enjoy the beautiful morning weather on the beach close to the ocean :

and wait for the fish ...

or go on a pier.
There is one that you can give it a try in Lorne.

During the morning there should be only a few people, but in the afternoon it gets crowded ...
The problem is that there are many crabs that will eat your bait :)
As far as I saw is better to give it a try on the left side of this pier.

As you can see in the pictures above the catch (please note I was with a friend and this is all the catch) was not so great, but sure it is nice ...

Other fishing options at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road - there are a few rivers, one in Anglesea and one just by the lighthouse from Aireys Inlet (enter in the first parking space after the lighthouse). I haven't been there to fish, but I saw in the second one I've mentioned above somebody catching something one day..
