(1) Preparing to buy a car & obtaining the Australian driving licence
I'll try to put here all the information that I'll find related to the subject - buying a car / the first car in Australia and obtaining the Australian driving licence.
(1.A) Obtaining the Australian Driving Licence
As I found out, the process of obtaining a driving licence is different from state to state, so what I'll describe here will be related to Victoria.
So... as a general idea, it is better to have a driving licence before you go there - the price for the total number of hours you have to take is high in Australia - so it is better to have it already - this way you'll reduce the number of hours.
In our case this is not a problem as we have the Romanian driving licence and lot of experience here.

(1.B) Buying a car / first car in Australia
For us this is an important item as we are thinking to buy a car when we arrive - in order to be able to move from place to place to find a house to rent.
So I started first to take a look at prices and what car I will be able to buy ...

I'm thinking to visit the Car City near Melbourne to search for a car - but as I saw there will be a lot of options ... so I have to decide what to look for...
